KATHUA, Nov 8: In a stringent move to ensure compliance with food safety regulations, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Ranjit Singh, today imposed Rs. 4.60 lakh penalty on erring traders for the violation of Food Safety and Standards Act (FSSA) 2006.
The penalties were imposed on various establishments, including bars, wine shops, and medical stores found guilty of selling substandard and misbranded items, operating without registrations and as well as for failing to maintain hygienic conditions.
“The Administration is committed to protecting the health and well-being of our citizens,” said the ADC. “We will continue to take stringent action against those who compromise food safety and hygiene,” he informed.
The penalties imposed today served as a warning to all food business operators in Kathua to adhere to the regulatory requirements and maintain the highest standards of hygiene and quality.
