JAMMU, Mar 30: Minister for R & B, Abdul Majeed Wani today informed the House that Rs 1.80 lakh have been allotted for purchase of six 25 KVA transformers in Batote division and Rs 3 lakh have been allotted to M&RE Division, Doda for the purchase of two 100 KVA transformers and five 25 KVA transformers.
Replying to a Calling Attention Motion by Ashok Kumar in the House today, the Minister hoped with this input to the buffer stock, the department shall be able to replace the damaged transformers in these divisions more rapidly and speedily. He said the damaged transformers of both of the divisions are proposed to be preferably replaced within a week’s time in a phased manner.
He said in spite of limited funds allocated under District Plan funds are also provided for non-plan to ensure early repair at divisional workshops to effectively address grievances of general public.
