Rs 43,400 fine imposed on 54 traders

JAMMU, Aug 14: A  team of CAPD Department officials conducted surprise checking  in various localities of Jammu city and adjoining areas and booked 54 defaulters/ traders and imposed of fine of Rs 43,400 on them.
The team headed by Dy Director (Supplies), Atam Dev Singh and assisted by ADs Mumtaz Mirza and Ajay Salaan and area inspectors, conducted market checking  in Ploura, Muthi, Barnai, Patoli, Bari Brahmana, Domana, Mishriwalla,  Narwal, Bathindi, Bakshinagar, Ambphalla, Rehari and other areas and booked scores of dishonest fruit/ vegetable vendors, Dhaba walls, meat and sweet shop owners besides others.
The officials imposed fine on 54 defaulters for violation of various provisions of Essential Commodities Act like non-display of rate lists, over-charging, use of domestic cylinders for commercial purposes etc. A fine of Rs 43,400 was also realized from them on the spot.
