Rs 50 lakh recovered from Hajeej

Srinagar, Sept 2:   Police recovered Rs 50 lakh from owners of Hajeej who duped Hajj aspirants in 2011 while they had earlier recovered Rs 2.38 crore from them.
Police said that the recovered amount has been deposited in the account of Principal District and Session’s Court Srinagar.
Earlier Police had recovered an amount of Rs 2.35 crore from the accused Fabiyan Wahid Gilkar and his associates including Rs 1.98 crore from auction of his house.
The amount of Rs 50 lakh was recovered from Delhi based party and the Vehicle Outlander of Gilkar. The property has been put to auction through Reliance Insurance Company by Session’s Court Srinagar.
District and Session’s Court has already disbursed 49 percent of the payment of Hajj aspirants 2011. Each aspirant has been given Rs 18,000 so far.
In 2011, hundreds of Hajj aspirants were duped by Hajeej India Hospitality Company. Police registered a case (FIR No. 58/2011) in Police Station Khanyar.
