Rs 80 cr released in favour of flood affected families

SRINAGAR, Jan 10: To review the measures undertaken for the rehabilitation and financial assistance being made available to the flood affected families of district Srinagar, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar convened meeting of revenue officers here today.
It was given out in the meeting that about Rs. 80 crore have been released in favour of the flood affected families whose houses were damaged during the recent floods. While Rs. 2.19 crore have been provided to the families, who are residing in the rented accommodations.
Deputy Commissioner Srinagar enjoined upon the officers of Revenue Department to ensure close coordination with the affected people so that necessary assistance will be provided to them. He also asked for expediting the removal of illegal encroachments from the State land in the district. Meanwhile, a checking squad was constituted comprising of SDM Srinagar, Assistant Commissioner Revenue and Assistant Commissioner Nazool, Srinagar to ensure regularities and punctuality of employees in the offices.
Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Assistant Commissioner Nazool, Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars attended the meeting.
