Poonch, Dec 24: A cheque amounting to Rs. 84,000 has been issued by the Chairman of the District Red Cross Society and Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Vikas Kundal IAS to the Chief Medical Officer Poonch Dr Parvaiz Ahmed Khan. This funding will be allocated among 28 tuberculosis (TB) patients under the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (PMTBMBA) program.
The initiative aligns with the Ni-kshay Mitra program, launched by Hon’ble President of India, Droupadi Murmu, on September 9, 2022. This crowd-sourced initiative enables organizations and individuals to ‘adopt’ TB patients, offering crucial support through nutrition supplies and vocational training.
Each patient will receive Rs. 500 per month for the next six months, providing vital support for their treatment.
