Rs 9 lakh recovered as fine from COVID SOP violators

Srinagar, June 27: Police today said to have recovered over Rs 9 lakh as fine from COVID-19 SOP violators while arresting 2 people across Kashmir in the last 24 hours.
“Continuing its efforts to curb the outbreak of 2nd wave of Coronavirus, during the last 24 hours Police have arrested 02 persons, lodged 01 FIR and also realized fine to the tune of 9,89,590/- from 7312 people throughout the Kashmir valley for violating the various guidelines/rules/SOPs regarding Covid-19. Besides, 10 vehicles were also seized in Shopian for violating Covid norms,” police said.
Police said that the special drive against the violators of Covid-19 guidelines continued throughout all the districts of Kashmir Valley to ensure that people adhere to SOPs envisaged by the government to curb the COVID-19 pandemic.
