RS disrupted over PM’s remarks on Agusta scam

NEW DELHI:  The Congress today disrupted the Rajya Sabha twice during Zero Hour to protest Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s reference to Sonia Gandhi’s involvement in the AgustaWestland bribery case in an election rally in Tamil Nadu. Deputy Chairman P J Kurien had to adjourn the proceedings for ten minutes each at 1130 hrs and 1150 hrs. Leader of Opposition  Ghulam Nabi Azad and later Anand Sharma raised the point of order, accusing the Prime Minister of lowering the dignity by contradicting Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar’s reply to the debate over the issue on Wednesday. Mr Sharma demanded that discussions be held under rule 267 and Mr Modi  be present in the House to substantiate his allegations. More (AGENCIES)
