RS polls: Voting progressing in MP for 3 seats

BHOPAL: Voting commenced at 0900 hrs on Friday at the Madhya Pradesh Assembly’s Central Hall for three Rajya Sabha positions and the process is scheduled to conclude at 1600 hrs.
The maiden vote was cast by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
In the words of Principal Secretary (Vidhan Sabha) AP Singh ? who has been designated as Returning Officer ? “All arrangements were completed well in time. Adequate precautions are being taken to safeguard legislators and officials alike from COVID-19.”
A total 206 lawmakers ? the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party’s 107, Congress’ 92, Bahujan Samaj Party’s two, a solitary representative of the Samajwadi Party and four independents are expected to participate. Counting is to begin at 1700 hrs. (AGENCIES)
