JAMMU, Aug 8: A retired Sub Inspector (SI) was killed while two others were injured in a road mishap at Machine Domana area, under the jurisdiction of Domana Police Station.
Police spokesman said that a retired SI namely Karan Singh, son of Budhi Singh of Nagbani was killed while his wife sustained injuries, when the scooty (JKO2V 7872) they were riding on was hit by a Jammu bound mini bus (JKO2AF 6264) in Machine Domana area.
After hitting scooty, the speedy mini bus also hit a motorcycle injuring one Ankush Kumar, son of Jagdish Kumar of Domana, he said.
As the driver lost the control on the steering, the mini bus later plunged into the Ranbir canal, he said, adding, that all the occupants of the mini-bus were safe.
The injured Veena Devi and Ankush were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
A case under relevant sections has been registered at Domana Police Station and a hunt was on to nab the driver, who fled from the spot.
