UDHAMPUR, Dec 6: RTI activities Advocate Sanjeet Kumar Bavouria today drew attention towards a scandal and alleged fraud by the J&K Housing Board.
Talking to media persons, here today, he informed that the Housing Board had received application forms for the allotment of plots at village Rathian and Chakhar, Tehsil Udhampur, for the establishment of Housing colony, around a decades back and on account of cost of application forms for the plots, Rs 500 was received from each applicant and thus an amount of Rs 51, 82,500 was collected.
“But till date, neither the plots have been allotted to the respective applicants nor the Housing Board has returned the received fees of application form,” he added and informed that this information was received by him through an RTI.
Alleging that the Housing Board had collected Rs.51, 82,500/- from 10,365 applicants by deceit full means, the RTI activist threatened legal action against the Housing Board if compensation is not provided to the applicants.
