KATHUA, Jan 25: Motor Vehicles Department under the supervision of Regional Transport Officer Dr. Raj K. Thapa seized four vehicles and imposed on spot fine/ challan on 134 other vehicles. Fine of Rs 14.40 lakh was imposed under various sections of Motor Vehicles Act, 1998 & rules framed there under.
The checking squad comprised of ARTO, Motor Vehicle Inspectors and other concerned.
In addition to challan/compound, the drivers were sensitized towards importance of safe driving, including seat belt, helmet, fitness of vehicles, hazards of using mobile phone, importance of maintaining of speed limits and various other traffic laws.
