JAMMU, July 22: During a drive here today at various locations, a team led by Regional Transport Officer (RTO) checked 200 vehicles.
A handout stated that 50 vehicles were challaned and 8 were seized especially those registered with Punjab but operating in Jammu without permission.
The team comprised of ARTOs, Jugal Sharma, Shafqat Majeed and Rehana Tabassam along with MVI Chander Mohan Sharma and Anupam Gandotra.
The RTO said many pilgrims of Amarnath Yatra are hiring private vehicles which are charging more than notified fares of JKSRTC and termed this as illegal and unacceptable.
