RTO office receives first on-line application for Driving License

JAMMU, July 26: Going high-tech, the Regional Transport Authority (RTO) office Jammu today received first on-line application for Driving License.
The application number 771981 for a Learner License, has been submitted by Neena Dutta wife of Pramod Raina of Pritam Nagar Paloura.
With this, the practice of on-line application for Driving License practically began today at the RTO office Jammu, which had announced this high-tech facility recently to avoid inconvenience to general public.
According to ARTO Kulbir Singh, with the introduction of on-line application, the aspirants no more need to visit the RTO office for submitting application along with required documents or any query on the same. Just log-on www.parivahan.nic.in and apply on-line for the driving license besides getting all information for the same on the website, he explained.
The ARTO further informed that the Transport authorities were also in consultation with the J&K Bank for starting the facility of online depositing of fee for registration of vehicle documents or other purposes.
