RTO suspends trade certificates of 3 auto dealers

JAMMU, Dec 17: Regional Transport Officer, Jammu has suspended trade certificates of three automobile dealers in Jammu and imposed penalty for violation of SRO-64 of 2012.
In separate orders, the RTO Jammu suspended the licenses of M/s Shuhul Automobiles Pvt Ltd., Narwal Bye Pass, Jammu, M/s J&K Automobiles (P) Ltd, Digiana Jammu and M/s Jainco Automobiles (J&K) Pvt Ltd. BC Road, Rehari, after they were found to be selling vehicles without the approval of the Empowered Committee, appointed by the Government.
While M/s Jainco was found to have sold two vehicles (Xtreame and Passion XPRO Motor Cycles), JK Automobiles had sold two vehicles (Xtreme and HF Deluxe Motor Cycles) and M/s Shuhul was found to have sold a vehicle (Mahindra Xylo E Services M Hawk CRDE 2wd BS4) in violation of the SRO-64.
Besides suspending the trade certificate, the RTO also directed the violators to deposit the composition fee of Rs 1.00 lakh per vehicle, sold without approval.
The SRO provides that the license holder shall not sell any vehicle “unless the model of the vehicle is introduced into the transport system of the J&K duly approved by an Empowered Committee to be appointed by the Government.”
Meanwhile, the RTO has asked all the trade certificate holders to ensure implementation of all the prescribed rules and regulations issued by the Government from time to time, while carrying out their business.
