Ruby, Subh, Manisha emerge winners in symposium

SAMBA, Dec 5: The Kathua Field Unit of Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India in coordination with Education Department organized a symposium on “Food Security Act” at Jagriti Shiksha Niketan, High School, Badali, Vijaypur.
The programme was aimed at sensitizing and mobilizing the rural masses in general and rural youth community in particular especially at the grass root level about various aspects and provisions of recently passed Food Security Act, which is meant for providing food to all.
The function was presided over by Neeraj Sharma, Principal of the host school, whereas N Gulshan Raina, Publicity Officer from the organizing department was the chief guest.
On the occasion, a panel of three judges was also nominated for the judgment of the participants during the symposium. Ruby Sharma, Subh Sharma and Manisha Sharma bagged first, second and third positions respectively.
While speaking, N Gulshan Raina stressed upon the audience to avail maximum benefits of all flagship programmes undertaken by the Government of India from time to time for their betterment, upliftment and development.
He urged the gathering to act as ambassadors in spreading the message of provisions and importance of Food Security Act and its components in their respective areas.
Later the winners were honored with prizes by the galaxy of officers and other dignitaries.
Publicity literature on National Food Security Act-2013 was also distributed among the audience on the occasion for making them more literate and aware about this National Programme.
In the end, Neeraj Sharma presented vote of thanks.
