Srinagar Sept 9: National Conference leader and Member of Parliament Syed Agha Ruhulla Mehdi called on the people of Jammu and Kashmir to send a decisive message through their vote in the upcoming elections, challenging the 2019 political decision.
Speaking at an election rally in Pulwama, which will vote in the first phase of the three-stage assembly elections on September 18, Ruhulla stressed the importance of this election in shaping the region’s future.
“These assembly elections hold special significance as Jammu and Kashmir is electing its government after the 2019 decision. The people must decide-do they accept or reject that decision? The laws imposed and the unaccountable administration need to be addressed. Electing leaders who understand the pain of the people will help revoke these laws and hold the administration accountable,” he said.
Responding to criticism from the PDP and BJP targeting the National Conference, Ruhulla said: “We are prepared to fight all of them, but the people of Jammu and Kashmir stand with us. As long as they believe in the National Conference, no party-whether PDP, BJP, or any alliance-can shake our foundation.”
