JAMMU, Dec 27: A High Powered Committee (HPC) set up to finalize ‘Business Rules’ for the Legislative Assembly will hold its first sitting on January 1.

Headed by Assembly Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather, the Panel comprised Mubarak Gul, Saifullah Mir and Hasnain Masoodi (all from NC), MY Tarigami (CPM), Nizam-ud-Din Bhat (Congress), Muzaffar Iqbal Khan (Independent) and Pawan Kumar Gupta and Ranbir Singh Pathania (both from BJP).
Excepting the two BJP members, seven others belonged to NC and its allies.
The Committee will meet in the Speaker’s Chamber at 11 AM on January 1 in Jammu, an official bulletin issued by the Assembly said.
