JAMMU, July 17: Nowabad Police booked rumour mongers for tarnishing image of a reputed child specialist.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by Dr Rohit Lahori, son of Dr Udhey Chander Lahori of Bharat Nagar Talab Tillo Jammu with Police Station Nowabad stating that some unknown persons have been circulating a fake and fabricated news on social media that his father is positive for COVID-19 pandemic.
My father is a reputed doctor and a well known child specialist, Dr Lahori said in his complaint, adding that the fake and fabricated news about his father has created panic among the public and annoyance among the family members.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 100/2020 under Sections 188 and 505 (1) (b) IPC and 54 Disaster Management Act has been registered at Police Station Nowabad against rumour mongers and investigation has been started.
