Institutions should not be there just for name sake and ”filling in the requisite ” forms and columns in Government files, instead they should be run with the requisite infrastructure including the most important component of the personnel supposed to man them. Jammu School of Architecture, unfortunately is starved of not only proper infrastructure and administrative staff but the most important aspect of the members on the faculty which is only one fourth of the required strength and thus even the academic front is ignored which looks strange and totally unwarranted.
What has been the state of affairs of this institution for the last three years, perhaps, nobody has bothered to peep into, least J&K Public Service Commission which has not been in a position to provide the professional staff to this institution. How can under such conditions, professional courses like Bachelors in Architecture be commenced efficiently and effectively? Department of Higher Education, perhaps, seems to be content with the School somehow, by fits and starts, seeming to be ”running”. Such a policy is at cross roads with the ways such professional institutions should otherwise be running. We hope, a period of three years is, by all standards, sufficient for issues plaguing the school to be adequately addressed and the concerned authorities must ensure that this professional institution runs smoothly and rolls out persons of merit and dedicated to the profession of Architecture.
