JAMMU, Feb 10: Jammu Rural Government Ration Dealers’ Association today discussed burning issues of the ration dealers of rural areas of the district in a meeting held here today under the chairmanship of Milkhi Ram, president of the Association.
The meeting was attended by all the Ration dealers from Jammu Rural areas. In the meeting, Milkhi Ram spoke on various issues like implementation of Cabinet decision No 127/11/2014 dated 16-07-2014, release of commission to the dealers under NFSA with effect from February 2016 onwards; installation of POS in the depots subject to engagement of those dealers under Rehbar-e-Khurak as declared by the Government, allowing the dealers to lift the ration prior to deposit in the Bank and to deposit the sale amount after selling the ration material to rationees at par with Kashmir division.
The Association president stated that the Department has not implemented the said Cabinet decision which was passed in the year 2014. “Moreover, the pending commission amount with regard to sale of ration material to Relief category rationees for the year 2014 and commission settled under NFSA with effect from February 2016 has not been released as on date due to which the rationees are suffering badly”, he said.
The members said that the ration dealers have full faith in the ideology of FCS&CA Department but the same yardstick should be used for both Jammu division and Kashmir division. They said, “We have no objection if POS machine is installed in each depot but before installation the department should engage these dealers as Rehbar-e-Khurak and a fixed salary/wage should be released per month in favour of these dealers who are serving the department for the sake of providing ration material to rationees.
