SRINAGAR, May 9: National Conference (NC) today expressed concern over the pathetic situation the poor and the underprivileged people are going through due to the ongoing lockdown.
In a handout NC Spokesperson, Imran Nabi Dar claimed that a large number of people who have been left without any work for the past 50 days are finding it impossible to make two ends meet.
He said that people from rural as well as urban areas are hit by the lockdown.
“The government and its agencies have to step in and help the underprivileged section of the society to face the crisis and live a dignified life,” he maintained.
He further said, like other places in Kashmir, Kulgam too is facing the brunt of the lockdown with no work available to the majority of people.
The NC leader also said that people are not able to get the essential commodities and only rice is not going to suffice as there are other basic items which are not available to many people living in far off villages.
