Rural Voter

Sir,
This has reference to the photograph in which two youth escort an old lady to cast her vote at a polling booth which was published in DE Nov 5.
How ironical and shocking it is that the very people who take so much pains in casting a vote to their representative get neglected and unrepresented by the same leaders who gets elected once election are over.
See the contrast urbanties do not take part in the poll process with the same enthusiasm as do the people in rural areas. The voter turn out falls rapidly in urban areas where elite hardly bother about such an exercise. However, it is the elite section which avails most of the benefits in the form of transport, communication electricity and other basic amenities while rural people cry for these facilities. Even after crying no one listens them because no one hears them.
How shocking and how tragic!
Yours etc….
