JAMMU, May 24: Shri Amarnath Barfani Langars Organization (SABLO) has urged Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) to clear clouds of confusion over conduct of Shri Amarnath Yatra this year so that they can prepare themselves for organizing langars.
In a handout issued today, the Association said last year, Shri Amarnathji Yatra was suspended by Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) due to COVID-19. “Though this year Shrine Board has declared a 56-day Yatra to the Himalayan cave shrine to begin from the twin routes of Pahalgam and Baltal from 28th June to 22nd August but till date Shrine Board has not issued permission letters to the Langar NGOs for setting langars, public address system, medical camps etc despite submission of applications to the Board,” the Association said.
SABLO said earlier, such permissions were generally received by the NGOs in the month of April every year and they had enough time to make required preparations for Bhandaras but due to this delay on the part of Shrine Board this year, it is flooded with large number of inquiries from our member Langar organizations seeking reasons behind this delay in issuing of permission letters to them.
“After the COVID-19 resurfaced this year again, the Shrine Board immediately suspended the ongoing process of registration of pilgrims and is yet to resume registration process of pilgrims,” the Association said and regretted that no specific announcement has come out from Shrine Board regarding conduct of the Yatra this year.
As the start date of Yatra i.e 28.6.2021 is approaching fast, SABLO appealed J&K LG Manoj Sinha and CEO SASB Nitishwar Kumar to look into the matter and clear the clouds of confusion and uncertainty over Yatra 2021 so that their member langar organizations can know the factual position and plan accordingly with respect to the Yatra.
