KATHUA, June 2: Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (SAC) in its meeting at Rajbagh near here today urged the State Government to reply the queries raised by Central Government regarding  the relief package forwarded by previous dispensation in lieu of their properties left out in PoK. It also asked the Government to revise the same at the tune of Rs 30 lakh each family.
The Committee said the revision of compensation be made along with reservations for their wards in State and Central government services as per the recommendations of Parliamentary Committee.
Gurdev Singh while addressing the meeting showed grave concern over the cold response shown by Dr Nirmal Singh, Deputy Chief Minister of the State in the Cabinet Coordination Committee (CCC) meeting held recently under his chairmanship. This has hurt the DPs who have pinned high hopes in coalition partners particularly in BJP. He criticized the Government for its vindictive mindset for causing delay and keeping the same in back burner for no reasons. Despite the firm commitment made with DPs by the coalition partners particularly BJP, before and after the formation of the Government and also referring the same in CMP, no concrete steps have been taken so far to mitigate the suffering of the DPs.
Gurdev Singh said Chief Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayed has very cleverly shifted the responsibility on the shoulders of BJP by announcing the formation of a Committee to look into the issue under the chairmanship of Dr Nirmal Singh which has yet to see the light of the day, he added.
He said it is now for the BJP  to show the proper concern and force its alliance partner to accept and resolve DPs issue asking the Union Government to pay on account relief and compensation in lieu of their left out properties.
