SAC conducts awareness prog for law students

JAMMU, Aug 10: Jammu and Kashmir State Accountability Commission has conducted week long awareness programme for the students of Law School of University of Jammu.
During the programme, Justice J P Singh, Member Accountability Commission educated the law students about the necessity, purpose and object behind the enactment of J&K Accountability Commission Act.
The students were also informed about various provisions of the Act and the amendments made from time to time in the principal Act, which have rendered the Act virtually ineffective in curbing the menace of corruption.
Justice Singh also highlighted various judgments pertaining to jurisdiction and functioning of the Commission. While highlighting the role of Advocates in curbing the menace of corruption, the SAC Member called upon the law students to reach to the general masses especially residing in rural areas and extend helping hand for infusing strength and courage in them to approach institutions like Accountability Commission to fight corruption in the society.
The law students requested the SAC Member that such programmes should be conducted in future also as the same act as eye-opener.
