DODA, Dec 12: A sacrilegious act in village Sherrna Seri of Bhaderwah here triggered protests and anger among the members of a particular community.

Shops and businesses establishments remained close in protest and large crowds gathered demanding strict action against the accused.
Even the Police had tough time in controlling the mob.
Locals named one Abdul Hamid, son of Abdul Ghani, resident of Chattra Bhaderwah as the accused after which a Police team raided his house and arrested him.
After SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta visited the area and assured the protesters of a fair investigation and strict action against the accused, the protesters were pacified.
Law enforcing authorities were closely monitoring the situation and were working with community leaders to restore peace and ensure communal harmony in the region.
