JAMMU, Dec 15: Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) J&K unit has decided to join hands with the BJP in the overall interest of people of the State in general and Sikh community in particular. The decision has been taken after due deliberations with representatives of different organizations by the SAD leaders.
This was stated by BJP National Executive Member & former State president, Shamsher Singh Manhas and SAD State president S Mohinder Singh, while addressing a joint press conference here today, along with other senior office bearers of SAD.
Both, BJP and SAD, also discussed at length all the issues pertaining to Sikh community and the BJP has assured that every possible effort will be made to address the problems of the community.
Shiromani Akali Dal urged the Central Government to address the problems of PoJK refugees as expressed in the Vision Document of BJP for the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
Both the parties have decided to carry forward the partnership/co-operation at different levels- be it social, political or economical and put the State on path of development and rid it from corruption.
It was also decided that a new beginning will be made in the State on the patterns of Punjab and Delhi to give due political representation to Akali Dal at various levels.
To contribute in achieving Mission 44+ of BJP, the Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) also appealed all its supporters to whole heartedly support all the candidates of BJP in the ongoing elections and ensure their victory.
SAD former State president Harjinder Singh Raina, its spokesperson S Surinder Singh Wazir, BJP Senior leaders S Virenderjeet Singh and Harpal Singh Cheeka from Haryana were also present in the press conference.
