Sadbhavana Diwas celebrated to mark birth anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi

JAMMU, Aug 20: Sadbhavana Diwas was celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of Former Prime Minister of India late Rajiv Gandhi.
NSS unit of Government College of Engineering and Technology, Jammu organized series of online events in order to commemorate “Sadbhavana Diwas”. These events held under the patronage of Principal Dr Sameru Sharma. The Sadbhavana Pledge- was administered by NSS volunteer Jaanvi Sharma. A documentary related to Sadbhavana Diwas was also played before participants.
To commemorate the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Late Rajiv Gandhi, “Sadhbhavana Diwas”, which literally means Harmony Day, was celebrated by the NSS unit of Govt College of Education Jammu.
On this occasion, students and staff of GCOE took a “Sadhbhavana Pledge”- taking an oath to work for the emotional oneness and harmony of all the people in India regardless of caste, religion, region, and language. They also pledged to resolve all differences among each other through dialogue and constitutional means without resorting to violence.
Dr. Kulvinder Kour (Principal of GCOE) applauded the efforts of NSS volunteers and GCOE students and highlighted the importance of Sadhbhavana Diwas.The program was proficiently conducted by NSS Programme Officer Dr. Shubhra Jamwal along with Prof. Sarita Dogra, Prof. Seema Kumari, and Prof. Shapia Shameem Bhatti. NSS volunteers who contributed to this event included Diksha Devi, Suvidha Sambyal, Sourav Sharma, Komal, Ambica Mishra, Mehak and Sunakshi Sharma.
GDC Vijaypur celebrated Sadbhavana Diwas by paying floral tributes to the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. The diwas was celebrated in the presence of the Principal of the College, Dr Sangeeta Sudan. The faculty members, non- teaching staff and students also attended the celebration with full enthusiasm and took a pledge to promote National Integration and Communal Harmony among people. The students also delivered motivational speeches during the celebration in the memory of Rajiv Gandhi who dreamed to make India a secular and developed country as a secular India alone is an India that can survive.
Sadhbhavna Diwas was celebrated by the students and staff of Government Degree College Darhal by taking a solemn pledge to promote National Integration and Communal Harmony among all the people. Principal of the college Prof Sumanesh Jasrotia threw light on the importance of the day.
Government Degree College Nowshera celebrated Sadbhavana Diwas under the banner of Internal Quality Assurance Cell. While speaking on the occasion Principal Dr Surinder Kumar said, “We encourage our students to promote and practice peace, national integrity, love, affection and communal harmony among the Indian people of all religions”.
Government Degree College Nagrota celebrated “Sadbhavana Diwas” under the patronage of Dr Attar Singh Kotwal, Principal of the college. The programme began with a welcome address by Prof Anjali Mahajan HOD English GDC Nagrota. Dr Iqbal Quasim, the Incharge of NSS unit was the resource person for the programme, who while speaking emphasized on the importance of peace, national integration and communal harmony.
Government Degree College RS Pura organized a pledge taking ceremony to observe Sadbhavana Diwas under the guidance of Principal of the college Dr GS Rakwal. All the faculty members along with Principal of the college participated in the pledge ceremony.
Government Degree College Batote organized a Sadbhavana Pledge Taking Ceremony wherein the Principal of the college, Prof. Rajesh Kumar Gupta administered the pledge to the employees of the college.
Government Degree College (GDC), Jindrah celebrated Sadbhavana Diwas. The staff and students took the pledge to promote goodwill and harmony among all the communities irrespective of cast, creed, color, race, gender and religion. The pledge was administered under the guidance of the Principal, Prof Rajshree Dhar.
Government Degree College Mahanpur celebrated Sadbhavana Diwas. Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat club of the college coordinated the pledge taking ceremony. The ceremony was held under the supervision of Dr RK Koul, Principal of the college.
Government Degree College Kakryal/Katra organized pledge to celebrated Sadbhavana Diwas under the guidance of Principal Dr CK Khajuria.
Government Degree College Ramkot celebrated Sadbhavana Diwas. Principal of the college Dr Ashu Vashisht, staff members and the students took pledge to work for emotional oneness and harmony of all the people.
Sadbhavna Diwas was celebrated by all the units of the J&K Police across Jammu and Kashmir. The main function was held at Police Headquarters Srinagar. ADGP Headquarters PHQ J&K MK Sinha administered the pledge to the officers and personnel at Police Headquarters, Srinagar. Special DG Crime J&K AK Choudhary, ADGPs SJM Gillani, Danesh Rana, IGP CIV PHQ, Alok Kumar, DIG, CKR, Range Amit Kumar, DPT, J&K Mushtaq Ahmad, AIGs of PHQ, Joint Director Prosecution PHQ, other senior officers and officials of PHQ were present at the pledge taking ceremony. Meanwhile, the ‘Sadbhavna Diwas’ pledge ceremonies were also celebrated at all Unit Headquarters including District Police Headquarters, Armed Battalions, Railway Police Headquarter Jammu, Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy and other training institutions of Jammu and Kashmir Police. The supervisory and controlling officers administered the pledge to officers and personnel at their respective units.
“Sadbhavana Diwas” Pledge Ceremony was organized at Zonal Police Headquarters and ADGP Jammu Zone Mukesh Singh administered oath to the officers and officials of ZPHQ Jammu. The “Sadbhavana Day”, Pledge ceremonies were also organized in all District Police Headquarters of Jammu Zone.
To commemorate “Sadbhavana Diwas”, Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam administrated the pledge to employees. Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Lal, CPO, Dr Kasturi Lal, Dy DEO Lal Chand, Tehsildars and all officers and officials of the District Administrative Complex were also present on the occasion. Similar programmes were also organized by the various departments and other organizations across the district.
Ramban Police today celebrated Sadbhavna Diwas at all its establishments in the district Ramban. The pledge today was administered by SP Ramban PD Nitya at District Police Office Ramban, DySP Dar at District Police lines Ramban, SDPO Banihal at Banihal, SDPO Gool at Gool and all SHOs at their respective police stations.
Sadbhavana Diwas was celebrated at all the Police establishments in the District Kathua. The Sadbhavana Pledge was administered by SSP Kathua R C Kotwal alongwith DySP DAR Kathua Sukhdev Singh at District Police Lines (DPL) Kathua.
Jammu and Kashmir Police in Rajouri organized pledge ceremonies in all the police posts and police stations, sub division offices and at district police lines as well as district police office.
Kishtwar Police organized pledge taking ceremony in wake of ‘Sadbhavana Diwas’ in all the Police establishments of District Kishtwar. The main function was celebrated in DPL Kishtwar.
NHPC Dulhasti Power Station celebrated Sadbhavna Diwas. On this occasion, National Sadbhavna Pledge Program was organized in the Administrative Building premises of Dulhasti Power Station. In the program, Nirmal Singh, General Manager (In-Charge), Dulhasti Power Station administered the Sadbhavana pledge to the officers and employees.
Directorate of Horticulture, Talab Tillo Jammu celebrated Sadbhavana Diwas by taking Sadbhavana pledge under the guidance of Director Horticulture Jammu, Ram Savak.
Rich tributes were paid to Late Prime Minister of India Rajiv Gandhi to mark Sadbhanava Diwas by the Congress activists in Udhampur under the leadership of Senior Congress Sumit Magotra. On the occasion, Veteran Congress leader Brij Mohan Sharma was also present. Congress activists recall the yeoman services of Late Prime Rajiv Gandhi. Later, Congress activists distribute fruit and other eatable items to the inmates of old age and orphan home.
To commemorate former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi’s 77th birth anniversary, the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) organized blood donation camps in every state across the country. All the State units of NSUI as per the directions of National President Neeraj Kundan organized the blood donation camps. Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi also arrived at one of the blood donation camps at NSUI Delhi Headquarters with the NSUI National President Neeraj Kundan. Leaders like Kunal Sehrawat State President and Nitish Gaur State Incharge were also present.
Sadbhavna Divas was observed today by various Government organizations including educational institutions, across Jammu and Kashmir.
To commemorate the 77th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, which is observed as Sadhbhavna Diwas all over the country, Government Degree College (GDC) Udhampur under the guidance of College Principal Prof Subhash Chander organized a pledge taking programme during which a number of staff members, programme officers and volunteers of NSS and cadets of NCC Units of the College pledged to promote communal harmony and national integration.
To observe the Day, a Sadbhavna pledge was administered to all the faculty members of Government Medical College Jammu by Principal of the Institution, Shashi Sudhan Sharma in the auditorium of the College.
