Sadhotra visits flood affected villages

JAMMU, Oct 4: To assess the damages caused by the flash floods and incessant rains, Minister for Planning, Development, Labour and Employment, Ajay Sadhotra today visited the flood affected areas of Marh block.
The Minister directed the Flood Control Department to speed up the restoration works of the damages caused due to flash floods and take adequate preventive measures to check any such losses.
The Minister visited village Sandwan of block Marh and took stock of the damages caused due to recent heavy rains and flash floods. He exhorted upon the officers to provide immediate relief and other facilities to the  flood affected people.
Accompanied by senior officers of Flood Control and other concerned Departments, Mr Sadhotra directed to show promptness in assessment of flood damage so that adequate assistance is  provided to the affected people. He also took stock of the situation from concerned officers and asked them to pace up the assessment works to ensure that the affected people are provided relief in time.
While taking round of the villages of Marh block and interacting with affected population, the Minister assured that Government will provide adequate relief to the people and all necessary measures will be taken to prevent any such losses in future. He asked the concerned departments to ensure time bound redressal of the grievances projected by the people of the area.
