JAMMU, May 11: Sadhu Samaj has fully endorsed the VHP decision to start parallel yatra to Holy Cave of Swami Amarnath Ji on the auspicious day of Jeshtpurnima falling on June 4.
Announcing this at a joint press conference here today Sant Mohan Bharti Ji, Sant Yogeshwar Nath Ji, Sant Kailash Nath Ji, Sant Parmanand Ji and Sant Angur Nath Ji said that Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) and Government should not interfere in the date and duration of yatra and should remain confined to arrangements and creation of facilities for the pilgrims during the two month long pilgrimage to Holy Cave.
By interfering in the yatra date and duration the Board and Government were playing with the sentiments of Hindus which will not be allowed, they said adding the Sadhu Samaj will fully back the VHP which has decided to run the parallel yatra from June 4.
They warned that neither the Sant Samaj nor the Hindu Samaj will tolerate any change in the traditional schedule of the yatra, which should start on Jesh Purnima and culminate on Sawan Purnima.
Meanwhile former convener Shri Amarnath Sangarsh Samiti, Leela Karan has also endorsed the VHP decision to start the parallel yatra on Jesht Purnima and asked the Government and Board not to interfere in the same.
Talking to media persons here this evening Leela Karan said that the decision on duration and time of yatra should be left to dharmic bodies only and Board should remain confined to creation of facilities for pilgrims.
He regretted that every year the Government was creating controversy on Amarnath yatra and this will not be tolerated at any cost.
