JAMMU, May 28: Civic Safai Karamchari Union has demanded Rs 5000 Corona incentives for the field staff of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) besides regularization of remaining 61 contractual/ casual workers of the Corporation.
Talking to the media persons here today, Rinku Gill president and Ranjit Singh Chairman of the Union said that Lt Governor’s Administration has sanctioned incentives of Rs 5000 to the Safair Karamcharis of Health Department and employees of various other sections. They said JMC field staff is also working as front line workers during this deadly second wave of Covid-19. Ultimately, the hospital waste is also being lifted by the JMC staff and their vehicles. Therfore, they should also be provided Rs 5000 incentives.
The JMC Union leaders further demanded increase in the pay structure of the Safai Karamcharis of the Corporation on the pattern of Union Territories. Their pay should be hiked to at least Rs 18,000 per month, they demanded.
The Union also demanded early conduct of DPC of all the cadres and issuance of seniority list as this exercise has been awaited since long. They said despite several reminders and representations made to the higher authorities, the officers at the helm of affairs did not bother about it. After abrogation of Article 370 all the workers staying here since decades have got Domicile, and now this issue should be resolved on priority, they added.
They further demanded regularization of 61 contractual/ casual employees working in different sections of JMC, who have completed more than required time period. They should be provided justice.
