JAMMU, Dec 4: Safai Karamchari Union today asked the authorities concerned to release salaries of Safai Karamcharis before December 10 or face agitation.
Addressing a press conference here today, president of Civic Safai Karamchari Union (CSKU), Dev Anand Gill appealed the Governor’s administration to release two and half days salary which is pending since April to December 2018 before December 25 on the eve of Christmas Day.
He also demanded release of salaries of NGO Safai Karamcharis, which is also pending for the last three months, before December 10, besides settling pending cases under SRO 43 as early as possible. Gill appealed Administration for timely disbursement of two and half day’s salary and release of NGOs monthly salary every month on proper fixed date.
Gill warned administration if the salaries were not released before December 10, Safai Karamcharis will be forced to organize mass agitation for which administration will be held responsible. He expressed resentment that those who are playing vital role in cleaning Municipal areas, are not even paid their meager salaries monthly.
He made it clear that if Safai Karamcharis were not paid their salaries before December 10 and if their Christmas celebrations were marred by non release of salaries, administration will have to pay heavy cost for this. He appealed Administration not to force them to take any extreme step and release their salaries before December 10.
