UDHAMPUR, Apr 19: Demanding regularization of the need based workers, Safai Karamcharis held a demonstration under the banner of Safai Karamchari Union Udhampur and the leadership of Girdhari Lal, president of the Union.
They raised slogans against the authorities concerned and in support of their demand for regularization of the need based Safai Karamcharis. They also announced indefinite Kaam Choro Hartal from Monday.
While addressing the protesters, Girdhari Lal said that the Union was struggling for the regularization of casual labours for a very long time but it was unfortunate that the State Government was not taking necessary action to regularize these temporary employees.
He warned that from Monday onwards, Union was going to kick start Kaam Choro Hartal for indefinite period till demands are accepted by the Government.
Pappu, Yosuf, Pholi, Azaz, Ravi, Vickey, Rattan, Altaf, Aslam and Sadiq also addressed the demonstration.
