UDHAMPUR, May 9: Highlighting their long pending demands, employees of Municipal Committee Udhampur held a protest demonstration in front of the office of MC Udhampur, here today .
The protest demonstration was organized under the banner of Akhil Bhartiya Safai Mazdoor Sangh, The protesters raised slogans against the J&K Government and district administration for not considering long pending demands.
Earlier on 23rd April 2018, all municipal local bodies had held one day dharna at the office of Director Urban Local Body Jammu and served ultimatum of 15 days to either consider their demands or face indefinite strike.
Listing their demands, Lucky Chidha, president Akhil Bhartiya Safai Mazdoor Sangh J&K, said that their protest was against privatization of recruitment of Safai Karamcharis of Urban Local Bodies and for recruitment against pending post, regularization the employees who have completed 7 plus year of job, clearance of pending arrears of Daily Wager Safai Karamcharis against the Govt order dated January 2018 on leave salary of 10 months, clearance of cases under SRO 43, etc.
He warned that the strike will continue till their demands are fulfilled.
