Safaikaramchari union holds protest

UDHAMPUR, Sept 26: Safai Karamcharis under the banner of All Safai Karamchari Union held a protest demonstration against the Government.
Safaikaramcharis assembled in front of the office of the Municipal Committee and raised slogans against the Government, for not redressing their demands.
They said that 84 permanent vacancies were lying vacant, which have not been filled till date. They also demanded regularization of all safaikaramchari engaged as casual labours, daily wagers and contractual, against the vacant posts in various Committees in the district.
President of Union, Kaka Hussain, told that after getting the written assurance from the Government they had suspended their 22 days long strike.
“Six months have passed but their demands are not conceded by the Government, compelling them to resume their agitation”, he added.
