DODA, Aug 25: Demanding their regularization, the safaikaramcharies–the frontline workers during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, went on three days strike from today, here.
As per reports, workers of Safaikarmachari Union assembled here today held protest. They went to three day strike from today to get their demand of regularization redressed.
“We are working from the last 10 to 15 years and till date no regularization order has been issued in our favour”, Irshad Ahmed Wattal District President Safaikaramchari Union said.
We are working on meager wages and it has become difficult for us to feed our families due to rising prices of the essential commodities, he said and alleged that only fake promises were made to us regarding our regularization.
In the time of ongoing pandemic, the safaikaramcharies are working day and night, but the Government is not doing justice with us, he added.
The protestors have appealed to the Lieutenant Governor of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha to redress their pending demand of regularization.
“We will come on road along with our families, if our demand of regularization is not redressed in the shortest possible time”, the protestors warned.
