JAMMU, Feb 26: A meeting was convened by the Director Urban Local Bodies, Jammu, in which all the District Presidents of Safaikarmchari Union Sawan Chedha, Tarsem Mashi, Subash Khokhar, Jassa, Rani Bhatti, Javed Ahmed, Aziz Mohd, Tarsem Lal and others participated.
After thorough discussion regarding regularization of Safaikaramcharies assurance was given after due consultation with Minister Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies and Secretary to Government H&UDD that genuine demand with regard to regularization of casual labourer safaikarmcharies who have completed seven or more years of active engagement will be regularized on priority at the earliest.
All the District Presidents and Presidents of Urban Local Bodies decided to call off the strike forthwith on the assurance of Director Urban Local Bodies, Jammu. K.L. Khajuria.
