‘Safar-e-Shahadat’ remembers sacrifices of Guru Pariwar

JAMMU, Dec 25: To commemorate martyrdom of Guru Pariwar and three Piyaras, a programme under the banner of ‘Safar-e-Shahadat’ was organized at Gurdwara MMS Nagar, Bathindi here under the aegis of State Sikh Religious Chief, Mahant Manjit Singh Ji.
‘Amrit Sanchar’ ceremony was performed on this occasion and 92 Sikhs received holy ‘Amrit’ and were baptized.
Earlier a two-day religious Samagam (congregation) was organized by Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee in which Kirtan of devotional reciting was performed by Raagis and Katha was delivered by religious priests with regard to the martyrdom of four Sahibzadas (sons of Guru Govind Singh Ji)-Ajit Singh, Jujhar Singh, Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh and Mata Gujjari with three Piyaras Bhai Mohkam Singh, Bhai Himat Singh and Bhai Sahib Singh.
The ‘Amrit Sanchar’ programme was organized by Sikh Naojwan Sabha in coordination with Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee and Sikh Sangat in which Panj Piyaras from Amritsar administered Amrit to 92 Sikhs including ladies after which they were advised to wear five K’s, chant Gurmantar and read Gurbani.
Guru Ka Langar remained operational these days.
