Sagar asks officers to work in close coordination with elected representatives

JAMMU, Dec 11: Maintaining that the Government has put in place an effective mechanism for ensuring sustained development of rural and far flung areas, Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Ali Mohammad Sagar today said that the officers should work in close coordination with the elected representatives of the areas to carry out need based developmental works.
The Minister was speaking at a review meeting of rural development schemes undertaken in the district Kupwara convened here today. The Minister for CA&PD, Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan, Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Mir Saifullah, Legislators, Abdul Haq Khan, Er. Abdul Rashid, Commissioner Secretary, Rural Development, Farooq Ahmed Peer, Directors Rural Development, Jammu, Kashmir Safiq Ahmed Raina, Mir Altaf Ahmed, Director Panchayati Raj, Farooq Ahmed Khan, Director Rural Sanitation, Shabir Ahmed,  Director Social Audit, A.G. Sofi,  ACD, Kupwara, Mushtaq Ahmed Beigh and other senior officers of the department were present in the meeting.
Mr. Sagar asked the officers to work in close synergy with the elected representatives of the area for ensuring effective implementation of the various Rural Development Schemes which have been instrumental in changing the socio economic profile of the rural areas, besides providing the much needed job opportunities to the people at their door steps.
“For the proper implementation of the schemes, the local elected representative should be consulted,  so that need based and effective implementation of the welfare programmes is ensured which would go a long way in ensuring that the pace of the development of rural and far flung areas is accelerated”, the Minister maintained.
The Minister for CA&PD, Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan, the Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Mir Saifullah and Legislators Abdul Haq Khan and Er. Abdul Rashid   while speaking on the occasion projected the need and demands of their respective constituencies.
