Sagar for proper projection of Govt’s viewpoint

SRINAGAR, Dec 1: Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Mohammad Sagar has asked the officers as well as the counsels to ensure that the view point of Government is properly projected while contesting cases in different courts of law.
The Minister was speaking at a review meeting of the Law department here today. Commissioner Secretary Law, Ghulam  Hassan Tantray, Advocate General, M.I. Qadiri, Senior Additional Advocate General, A.M. Magray, Additional Advocate Generals, Deputy Advocate Generals and Standing counsels representing different departments were also present in the meeting.
Mr. Sagar asked the officers to submit a monthly status report of the various cases to their respective Departments so that they can be properly monitored and replies filled within the stipulated time frame. He said that they should work in close synergy with the concerned departments, so that the view point of Government is projected and cases are decided within the shortest possible time and also asked that the law officers should ensure that they personally follow the cases as well.
The Minister also asked them to ensure that the copies and orders of courts/other legal fora are forwarded to the Administrative Department at an earliest so that the necessary action can be initiated. He said that the Government has already initiated the steps for strengthening the judicial infrastructure across the state so that the people living in far flung and rural areas get the requisite legal services and the cases are decided within the shortest time.
The meeting also appreciated the steps taken for the implementation of the state litigation policy.
