Sagar reviews arrangements for Shab-i-Meraj

SRINAGAR, June 14: While directing the officers to ensure that the devotees coming to the Hazratbal for the Meraj-ul-Nabi (SAW) celebrations do not face any inconvenience, the Minister for Rural Development, Law, Panchayati Raj and Parliamentary Affairs Ali Mohammad Sagar today said that fool proof arrangements should be ensured for the public purpose.
The Minister was addressing a review meeting convened to discuss the arrangements for the ensuring Meraj-ul-Nabi (SAW) celebrations.
Vice Chairman Wakaf Dr. Mohammad Yaseen Qadri, District Development Srinagar, Baseer Ahmed Khan, Additional District Development Commissioner M. A. Qadri, RTO Kashmir Anees Khan, SSP Security, SSP Traffic, SE’s R&B, UEED, LAWDA, PDD and other senior officers of various departments were present.
Asking the officers to work in close coordination, the Minister said that proper measures should be taken to ensure that the devotees coming to offer prayers at different shrines across the Valley, particularly at Dargah Hazratbal do not face any inconvenience viz a via essential supplies like water, electricity, healthcare facilities, security and other related things be taken care off.
Mr. Sagar directed SE R&B to ensure that all the roads leading to Hazratbal are properly macadamized and pot holes are also repaired. He also asked the SE PDD to ensure that the street lights around the shrine are made fully functional and uninterrupted power supply is ensured to the area around it and also different shrines of the Valley like Pinjora, Khiram, Sirhama, Jenab Sahab Soura and Kalashpora.
The Minister also directed the RTO Kashmir to ensure that proper transportation facilities are provided to the devotee especially during the morning and night prayers.
