SRINAGAR Aug 3: To ensure fool proof arrangements for ensuing Shab-i-Qadir and Eid-ul-Fitr, the Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Ali Mohammad Sagar convened a meeting of Divisional Administration here today, in which threadbare discussion was held to ensure availability of ration and other essentials.
Mr. Sagar asked the Chief Engineer PHE to ensure adequate water supply to people during the auspicious day. He directed the Chief Engineer, Electric Maintenance Rural Electrification Kashmir to make arrangements for better power supply especially during the holy days of Shab-i-Qadir and Eid-ul-Fitr. He asked Chief Engineer Maintenance and Srinagar Municipal Corporation to work in close co-ordination while installing street lights in Srinagar city to ensure proper lighting system in city lanes and drains.
Mr. Sagar while reviewing stock position of essentials was told that adequate stock of essentials are available in CA & PD godowns. He directed the authorities of CA & PD to ensure supply of 3 kgs sugar instead of 2 kgs to the consumers in view of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Minister also reviewed traffic arrangements and was told that Traffic Department has formulated a new traffic plan which would be put to use from August 6, 2013. He directed the Municipal authorities to ensure cleanliness in and around mosques and shrines especially Jamia Masjid Srinagar. Dargah Hazratbal, Ziyarat-i-Dastigeer Sahib, Khan-i-Khah-i-Moulla etc.
He asked concerned officers of the Health Department to set up medical and first aid centres in the respective localities.
Mr. Sagar asked Traffic Department to ensure availability of round the clock transport facilities for the devotees on Shab-i-Qadr and Eid-ul-Fitr.
The meeting was attending by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, concerned engineers and officers of Power, PHE, RTO, CAPD, SMS, Srinagar, Health, Traffic etc.
