Sagar for speedy completion of developmental projects

SRINAGAR, May 26: Minister for Rural Development and Panchayats, Ali Mohammad  Sagar has directed the officers to speed up the pace of work on developmental works undertaken by the Government for ensuring need based and sustained development of the city so that they are completed in a time bound manner and people get the requisite benefits from these.
The Minister was interacting with officers during his extensive tour of the Srinagar city to get the first hand information about the implementation of the various schemes undertaken in different sectors like R&B, PHE, H&UD etc. He was accompanied by Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Dr. G. N. Qasba,
Mr. Sagar inspected the pace of work on the Community Hall being constructed at Dualatabad in old city with an estimated cost of Rs.3.70 crore. He was told that an amount of Rs. 1.20 crore has already been spent on it and it would be completed by September end.
The Minister also directed the officers to speed up the pace of work on the bridge being constructed at Miskeen Bagh by LAWDA with an estimated cost of Rs. 60 lakh. The bridge would redress the problems of large chunk of population living in the area which remained cut off from the main land.
Mr. Sagar also asked for the speedy completion of the Steel Decked Bridge being constructed at Abi Nowpora by SMC at an estimated cost of Rs. 35 lakh. He also directed for the renovation of lanes and drains in the area so that the people living in these areas do not face any inconvenience.
While asking for the timely completion of the Primary Health Centre and Community Hall being constructed at Koolipora-Khanyar with an estimated cost of Rs. 7 crore, the Minister said that these would be equipped with the state of art equipment and allied things so that the people living in the area and its catchments get benefitted from it.
The Minister while interacting with people at different localities maintained that the Government has undertaken a comprehensive programme for the holistic development of the Srinagar city. He said that the people are well aware of the fact that the present Government has ensured sustained peace and the pace of developmental activities has also been speeded besides clear instructions have been passed to the concerned to ensure time bound completion of various welfare schemes and programmes.
