Sagar takes stock of post flood situation in Pulwama

SRINAGAR Oct 5: Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Ali Mohammad Sagar today visited Pulwama district to take stock of the  post-flood situation.
While chairing a meeting of officers which was convened to have appraisal of the measures initiated for distribution of relief among flood affected people of the district, the Minister directed the officers for making early assessment of damages caused due to floods to the property and crops so that the affectees could be provided necessary succor. He asked the officers to adopt pro-active approach and complete the process of assessment on priority.
Mr. Sagar also interacted with people at different places en-route and assured that the Government would provide every possible help for the rehabilitation to the flood affected people. He maintained the Numberdars, Sarpanchs, Panchs and members of local Auqaf Committees have been entrusted with the job of distribution of ration and other relief material among affectees in order to maintain the transparency.
Member Parliament, Ghulan Nabi Ratanpuri, former minister Bashir Ahmad Nengroo and Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Rajpori were also present in the meeting.
Among others, Deputy Commissioner, Pulwama, besides district officers of different department attended the meeting.
