Sahibi-Saftami celebrated with religious fervor, gaiety

JAMMU, Sept 23: Kanyaghrat Hawan was performed with religious fervour at Mata Shree Roopa Bhawani Temple, Talab Tillo, here today.
On this occasion, Shri Alakh Sahiba Trust organises Hawan every year in which devotees from all over Jammu and Kashmir took part with enthusiasm and fervour.
An incarnation of Shree Sharika Bhagwati, the Adhishthatri deity of Kashmir has the devotee followings throughout the world.
This day is celebrated to pay reverence to Mata Shree Roopbhawani popularly known as Alakh Sahib / Rup Ded. Mata Shree Roopbhawani, who considered Lal Ded a great Shiv Yogini of Kashmir and her father Pt Madhoo Joo Dhar as her Guru enlightened Kashmiri society with her mystic Vakhs which showed the path of self realization and Moksha from this world.
The celebrations of Hawan started yesterday evening with Kalash Pooja followed by 1st Suhakar.
The devotees assembled throughout the night. The whole Parisar of Mata Shree reverberated with the singing of Bhajans and Mata Shree Roopbhawani`s Aradhana.
Simultaneously Hawans were solemnized at Waskura, Manigam, Lar and Cheshma Sahibi in Kashmir valley and Noida, Ghaziabad and Faridabad in Delhi NCR.
The devotees present on the occasion recited Mata’s Rehas-e-Updesh. Hawan culminated with Puran Ahuti today which was followed by distribution of Prashad among the devotees.
The Hawan of Mata was also solemnized on the occasion of Sahibi Saftami at Mata Shree Roop Bhawani Temple, Sharda Colony Patoli Brahmana under the supervision of Avtar Krishan Dhar a devotee of Mata.
A large number of devotees thronged the Temple premises and participated in the religious function. The Hawan started yesterday evening and culminated with Puran Ahuti this afternoon which was followed by serving of Prashad to devotees. The Bhajan Kirtan was also held in the praise of Mata on the occasion.
