JAMMU, Aug 29: The NSS Unit of Government Degree College (GDC), Bishnah organized a poster making competition based on the theme “Yaad Karo Kurbani (Freedom Fortnight-70 years), in which NSS volunteers participated actively.
The competition was organized under the guidance of Dr Aksa Rao, NSS Programma Officer.
The programme began with the inspirational speech by Principal of the college Dr Kuldip Raj Sharma, who was the chief guest on the occasion.
The penal of judges were Prof Seema Mir, senior most faculty and HoD, Department of English, Dr Alka Sharma, HoD, Department of Education and Prof Preeti Dogra, HoD, Department of EVS. The other faculty members present on the occasion were Dr Raj Jamwal, Dr Savtanter Kour and Dr Rajesh Manhas.
The first, second and third positions were bagged by Sahil Kumar, Amarpreet Kour and Nikhil Gupta respectively and the consolation prize was bagged by Lakshmi Devi and Shabnam Mehra.
Prof Seema Mir also encouraged the students with her motivational speech.
The anchoring was done by Sweety Kumari and Supriya Gupta, students of the college and the formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr Aksa Rao.
