Sahil Ohri’s paintings on display

JAMMU, Mar 15:  “From seen to unseen” a solo of paintings by Sahil Ohri, are on display for three days at Master Sansar Chand Gallery Kala Kendra Jammu, from today.
Prof  R D  Sharma, Vice Chancellor of Jammu University formally inaugurated the art exhibition in the presence of  Prof  Poonam Chaudhary, Principal Institute of Music and Fine Arts ( IMFA), JU,  Prof Rita Jitendra, former Secretary J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and Raj Bharti,  Art activist.
Sahil is a product of IMFA, University of Jammu and then he did MFA in painting from Kurukshetra University. He has participated in more than 15 painters camps across the country and participated in many State, National level and three international level art exhibitions. At present he is teaching faculty as Art teacher at Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 Gandhi Nagar Jammu.
Fourteen landscape paintings, most of them executed in acrylics medium, have been displayed in this exhibition. The treatment of paintings gives an impression of expression of his aptitude in landscape scenes. Some of the images reflect his intuitive practice in visualizing and expression.
Speaking on this occasion Prof R D Sharma appreciated the works created by Sahil Ohri that convey aesthetic flavor to the viewer. He said that it is a proud moment that the students of Institute of Music & Fine Arts, a part of Jammu University, are showing their talent at national and international level, as was evident from the achievements of Sahil Ohri.
According to Rohit Verma whose introductory note on Sahil’s work has been published in the brochure circulated, ‘His visual vocabulary in guise of aesthetic values comes to the fore from sub- consciousness realm in the form of blurred images of his native land of Jammu & Kashmir….’
