UDHAMPUR, Sept 23: ADGP, Director SKPA Udhampur Suleman Salaria and IGP Jammu Zone Dr SD Singh today launched SAHULAT Office App developed by IDEOGRAM Tech Solutions for District Police Udhampur for streamlining the functioning of SAHULAT Public Grievance Cell of Udhampur.
MLA Chenani Dina Nath Bhagat, Ravinder Kumar DC Udhampur and other prominent citizens and retired police officers of district Udhampur were present on the occasion.
Besides this, a short movie on drug addiction titled “Ujadta Chaman” was also formally released today by Director SKPA and IGP Jammu Zone on the occasion. This movie was directed by Rahul Sharma and produced by JKP to spread the awareness among the masses especially younger generation about the ill effects of drug addiction. While delivering the inaugural address, SSP Udhampur informed the house about the concept of SAHULAT, a public grievance monitoring and public outreach system and the concern of Police Udhampur with regard to the eradication of the menace of drug addiction from the society may it be the awareness programs or the strict action against the narcotic smugglers including imposition of PSA against the habitual offenders.
While speaking on the occasion Director SKPA and IGP Jammu said, “We would have to address the major reasons which lead the youth to take drugs, besides de-addicting the drug users”.
IGP stressed for joint efforts by all stakeholders especially parents to overcome the menace and save the youngsters from drug consumption, which also leads to other evils and crimes.
Dr SD Singh accompanied by DC, SSP and other officers of the district visited District Police Lines Udhampur and dedicated the new Martyrs Memorial constructed at DPL Udhampur to the venerable police martyrs. IGP also inaugurated a podium for the general use of police and various sports and cultural activities.
IGP also inaugurated a Children’s Park for the wards of police and martyr families under the aegis of Police Wives Welfare Association (PWWA).
Tabassum Parveen, Additional SP Udhampur hosted the function along with support from Zahid Saif Wani, DySP Hqrs, Himat Singh, DySP DAR, Chanderjeet Singh SDPO Chenani, Jagdev Singh Slathia, SDPO Ramnagar, other police officers of district Udhampur, officers of CRPF, prominent citizens including members of Beopar Mandal, Chamber of Commerce, trainee Deputy SPs and other male and female trainees of Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy also participated in the function.
