JAMMU, Apr 2: The Saini brotherhood of Jammu and Kashmir today held a conclave at All J&K Kshatriya Saini Sangathan’s community hall in Bishnah under the supervision of President Suksham Singh and General Secretary Amandeep Singh Saini.
During the conclave, the community leaders emphasized the importance of preserving the community’s historical Yaduvanshi Rajput identity and Kshatriya values.
Dr Dhirendra Singh Jadaun, a major community leader of the Jadaun Rajput community of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, and an official spokesman of Akhil Bhartiya Kshatriya Mahasabha, also attended the event.
During the conclave, community leaders vehemently opposed any suggestion or attempt by the government to include the Saini community of Jammu and Kashmir in the backward class list. They expressed satisfaction at the recent protest by the community’s youth against the Government notification, which led to its withdrawal. However, they warned that the political operators with vested interests may attempt to bring the notification back before the 2024 general elections.
The community leaders alleged that the Government’s notification to enlist Sainis as backward was neither based on any community demand nor on any scientific survey. They further warned that if this notification reappeared in any new format, there would be an intense agitation by Saini youth, and legal and political costs would be imposed on whoever is found complicit in bringing it forth.
Dr Dhirendra Singh Jadaun of Akhil Bhartiya Kshatriya Mahasabha recognized Sainis of Jammu and Kashmir as a bona fide Rajput group with a distinct and heroic historical narrative. He reminded the community of their sacrifices and military contributions during the period of Mughal and British ascendancy, and said that Sainis of Jammu and Kashmir are an integral part of the Yaduvanshi Rajput brotherhood.
He lauded the community for preserving their Kshatriya values for generations and voluntarily rejecting backward class categorization, setting an example for other communities in the country to follow.
